Profile

I joined Lero in October 2009, before which I was Professor of Computing at The Open University (OU), UK. I continue to hold a Chair at the OU, where I served as Director of Research in Computing between 2002-2008. I am also a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London and at the National Institute of Informatics, Tokyo, Japan.

My research interests are in software requirements and design, security and privacy, process modelling and technology, and technology transfer.

Some recent research projects I was involved with include PRiMMASecureChangeMaTREx and SP4A.

I am engaged in various professional activities including serving as Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Editor Emritous of the Automated Software Engineering Journal,  and past Chair of  IFIP Working Group 2.9 .

Some other professional activities with which I have been engaged in the past include chairing the ICSE Steering Committee, and serving as Programme Chair for ICSE-2005 (USA), RE’01 (Canada), and ASE’98 (USA).
